Peppies

Grip discontinued? This is the alternative

Grip, the budgeting app by ABN AMRO, has been discontinued. Peppies takes over — free, bank-independent and for your whole household. It works on top of any bank, without you having to switch.

Free to start Privacy-friendly Made in the Netherlands

Many people in the Netherlands used Grip (the ABN AMRO app) to keep their spending in view. Now that it has stopped, you are looking for an alternative that is not tied to a single bank. Peppies works with every Dutch bank: you import your statement and instantly have your overview back — plus things Grip never had, such as a daily budget and your whole family joining in.

Works with every bank

ABN AMRO, ING, Rabobank, bunq, Knab or any other bank — you do not need to switch. You simply import your statement (CSV, MT940, CAMT or Excel).

Free to start

Keeping an overview costs nothing. The smart budgeting tools are in Complete (€1.99 per month), which you can cancel monthly.

For your whole household

Not just for you: invite your partner or housemates, each with their own login and one shared overview. Grip could not do that.

Privacy-friendly, made in the Netherlands

No mandatory bank connection and no bank credentials. Your statement is read on your own device; your data stays yours.

Frequently asked questions

Does Peppies work with my bank?

Yes, with every Dutch bank. You download your statement from your bank (CSV, MT940, CAMT or Excel) and drag it into Peppies — it reads the file and categorises it automatically.

Do I have to connect my bank, like with Grip?

No. You never enter bank credentials and you do not link an account. You import a statement file yourself, whenever you want.

What can Peppies do that Grip could not?

A daily budget (what you can spend today), pots and savings goals, and your whole household joining in — plus a calendar and shopping lists in the same app.

Does it cost money?

Starting is free. For the extended budgeting tools you choose Complete (€1.99 per month), which you can cancel monthly.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in the browser and as an app on your home screen. For iPhone and iPad there is also a free app in the App Store.

Is it available in English?

Yes. Unlike Grip, Peppies is available in English as well as Dutch — handy for expats and internationals banking in the Netherlands.
